Skye Cuillin Ridge

The Cuillin Ridge on the Isle of Skye consists of 11 Munros and tens of kilometres of world class mountaineering terrain. For many walkers and climbers, completing a full traverse of the ridge is a major aspiration, but this is not the only way to enjoy the jewel in the crown of the UK mountains. With four individual days it is possible to summit all of the Munros on the main Cuillin ridge, with an extra day required for Bla Bheinn which sits slightly to the east.

For those that would like to attempt a traverse, the majority of people complete it in two days with a bivouac half way along the ridge. You should expect two days up to 12 hours long, a total of 32 kilometres with 12 kilometres on technical terrain, and all done with a heavy rucksack. Good weather is required, so to complete a traverse you will need fitness, experience on technical ground and a little bit of luck!

If you just want to get out and enjoy some fantastic scrambling and climbing on Skye, the possibilities are endless. From scrambling along big mountain ridges to summiting the Inaccessible Pinnacle to rock climbing on sea cliffs - no matter what your level of experience, we will find the perfect adventure for you on the Misty Isle.

Prices per day for individual days on Skye:
1 person - £300

2 people - £350
3 people - £375
Cuillin Ridge Traverse:
1 person - £1,100
2 people - £1,200
We will only guide the full ridge traverse with a maximum of 2 clients per guide. A ridge traverse requires two dry days, so we recommend booking three days. In this way, the best two days can be taken for the traverse. The third day can be used for a warm up and training day, traversing Clach Glas and Blabheinn (the Munro on Skye that is not in the main Cuillin Ridge) or climbing elsewhere on the ridge.
If the weather is very bad, we will revert to day trips from your valley base and we will give a refund of £200.
The weather in the Scottish mountains can change in a matter of minutes. Rain is common and it can regularly feel as cold as -10 degrees Celsius on the summits, even in the summer. Make sure you are ready for your day by packing the items on the list below.

What's Included
Included in the price is guiding and instruction, and the use of helmets and harnesses if you don't have these. Your guide will provide all ropes and technical equipment so you just need to bring your own personal climbing kit. You will also  need to provide your own accommodation, food, and insurance.
For a traverse you will also need to have your own sleeping bag, mat and bivvi bag. We will provide dinner and breakfast while sleeping out on the ridge and your guide will have a stove.

Experienced Needed
You should expect to be out in the mountains for a full day, potentially in poor weather, so a good level of fitness is required. For a full traverse of the Cuillin Ridge, experience of the ridge itself or lots of scrambling elsewhere is recommended and will give you a much better chance of completion. All of our guiding is tailored to suit you, so let us know what you've done before and any goals you may have, and we will make sure your days out have the perfect amount of challenge and fun.

Outline for the Day
We usually start our days on Skye at 8am, but it could be earlier depending on the weather, location etc.  Your guide will meet you at your accommodation or another suitable location, where you will check through kit before heading out into the mountains, and you should be back down by about 5pm.
